Mood Ring
Located on Myrtle Avenue, the colorful "Mood Ring" bar was created by Vanessa Li, 25, and her lifetime best friend, Bowen Goh, 27. They took inspiration from the movie "In the Mood for Love" by Wong Kar-wai. This bar is also a place for local artists to showcase their work.
The Place
With its brightly-colored outside, the bar is situated under the elevated train of Myrtle Avenue. The original interior has a bar in the form of a triangle and is circled by a series of round benches. There is also a backroom that turns into a dance floor during the weekend.
The Crowd
Usually standing under 30, the crowd is one of the most diverse you might encounter. Bringing together all skin tones, hairstyles, and outfits, the "Mood Ring" welcomes people from all backgrounds.
The Music
From 80s hits and R&B classics to techno beats, the music at the "Mood Ring is as varied as its crowd.
The Drinks
As enthusiasts of astrology, the owners decide on a new cocktail every month for each zodiac sign. And, for those who are not star lovers, the bar offers more traditional drinks such as wine and beer.
